TEXT: 2 Corinthians5:9-16(NKJV)
9. Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.
10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things [done] in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
11. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.
12. For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have [an answer] for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.
13. For if we are beside ourselves, [it is] for God; or if we are of sound mind, [it is] for you.
14. For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;
15. and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.
16. Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know [Him thus] no longer.
STUDY: Every Christian should strive to live a life that pleases the Lord. This is because every person must one day appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ, where he will receive a reward according to his works on earth (v.10). It is the duty of every Christian to persuade unbelievers to receive the gospel of Jesus Christ and repent of their sins, so as to avoid the consequences of their sins.
Indeed, the love of Christ that is shed in the hearts of God’s children should compel them to witness for Christ so that those who accept the gospel will begin to live a new life that pleases Him.
Many people live sinful lives with devastating consequences. Beloved, how have you been living your life? Since it is clear that we must all appear at Christ’s Judgment Seat, how prepared are you? Examine your life and see if you are actually living to please the Lord. If not, repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, and ask for His Holy Spirit to help you live a righteous life that will bring glory and honour to His Name.
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, help me to live for You alone. Amen

“The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, ‘O God, forgive me,’ or ‘Help me.’”– Billy Graham
