A Great Calm For A Great Stor

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: 2 Peter 1-3

TEXT: He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still. Psalms 107 :29.
I discovered something in life that for every great Strom, there is a great calm to prevail. In other words, what that great storm in your life requires is a great calm. The reason storm’s become great is to sweep you off your feet and to create an opening through fear to afflict you. But hear me; the storm that cannot take your peace cannot overcome your life because in your peaceful state, God shows Himself strong for you. He says, “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the heathen. I will and exalted in the earth” (Psalms 46 :10).

The devil understands this and so devises storms to shift your focus off God and get drowned in the situation. That was why Moses said to the Israelites when they were before the Red Sea and the Egyptians, “Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD which he will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace” (Exod. 14 :13-14).

Your calmness in the midst of storms embarrasses and weakens the devil. Just imagine the storms of life saying to themselves, “We came just as storms thinking they would panic, but they went to church dressed gorgeously and even danced with a tambourine in their hands.

Even when there was no money in their homes, thinking they would quarrel and exchange hurtful words for us to find a legal ground to afflict them, rather they kept declaring prosperity and showed love and affection to themselves even beyond what we ever imagined. All our efforts, as storms have not yielded our desired result because their inbuilt capacity has withstood us.”

Child of God, you must recognise that victory over the storms of life solely depends on you. I pray for you that no storm of life will sweep you off your feet, in Jesus Name.

PRAYER: My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I decree calmness in my life in the midst of every storm, in Jesus name.
