TODAY’S SCRIPTURE: Colossians 3-4
TEXT: And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag which he had, even in a scrip; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistines. 1 Samuel 17:40
Every believer is a problem-solver. Believers are the solutions to the various problems in the world. Every believer has a major problem tied to their destiny to project them to limelight. The problem may appear a giant, but when it is conquered, the Victor rides on it glory. The size and height of that ‘giant’ is therefore very significant in reigning in life.
Let’s take a look at the story of Joseph. It may not appear exactly as that of David, but they have great similarities. Joseph had been solving problems at every point in life – in his father’s house, in Potiphar’s house, in the prison, but there was still a major problem for him to solve to reign in life. Not until he interpreted the dream of Pharaoh, he had limited influence.
Do not run or shy away from that giant problem. Confront it as David did Goliath. Just as our anchor text indicated in the last clause, David drew near to Goliath. He advanced in battle and confronted the giant and brought him down. Retreating in battle is not a characteristic associated with the redeemed; every weapon of our warfare according to Ephesians 6:11-17 is located in front with none, behind because God expects His own to advance in battle.
There is giant for you to confront – therefore, conquer it and reign in life.
PRAYER
My Father! My Father! As I begin to pray, I arise and confront my giant.
