TOPIC: ACCEPTABLE SACRIFICE
TEXT: LEVITICUS 9:17-24

It is remarkable to note that the maiden sacrifice performed by Aaron and his sons as Levitical priests in the congregation of Israel under the leadership of Moses was ecstatically glorious. After the consecration of Aaron and his sons into the priesthood, Moses was detailed by God to offer sin and peace offerings on behalf of the redeemed pilgrims who came out of Egyptian captivity.
Our passage today captured the exercise of the first daily sacrifice of the meat offering together with the burnt offering of the morning sacrifice. The peace offering for the people was also prepared and presented unto Aaron and his sons who meticulously followed the prescribed pattern of sacrifice as directed by God through Moses.
The obedience to this divine directive and harmony in the discharge of such a religious duty was honoured by God who consumed the burnt offering by fire. The presence of God in the tabernacle and the pronouncement of blessings upon the people by Aaron show us that He delights in our obedience and submission to His commandments and will.
God has faithfully responded to the sacrifice and the worship of His people by His faith-building anointing power. Anytime and anywhere true worshippers offer acceptable sacrifice, the holy God responds accordingly. As we draw near to Him in true repentance, faith and total surrender, He will accept us and our sacrifices of prayer and praise.
