Scripture Union Daily Guide 10th January 2021 Message:

It was bedtime when a son came to his father: “Sorry, dad, I forgot to give you this note from the teacher.” He handed over the note, went to bed and a few minutes later he was sound asleep. How daddy would raise the funds for this school trip was daddy’s worry, not his. No wonder Jesus Christ teaches us to become like little children! Notice a similar thing Paul sked Christians to do, and its result (Philippians 4: 6 – 7) I suppose it was v.26 of our reading today which inspired the little poem by Elizabeth Cheney entitled, The Robin and the Sparrow: Said the robin to the sparrow, “I should really like to know, Why these anxious human beings Rush about and worry so.” Said the sparrow to the robin, “Friend I think that it must be, That they have no Heavenly Father, Such as cares for you and me.”

• So what? Does anything in vs.25, 28, and 31 cause you anxiety? Or is it something else outside of these? Write down ALL the things that worry you today.

Closing Prayer
• Based on 1 Peter 5:7, place all these worries before your heavenly Father and see what He will do about them. • Thank God for His provisions through your work place or business and ask for more productive week ahead
