Yesterday, we concluded our study with the exhortation to “keep in step with the Spirit” at all times. The practical aspect of that opens our study today. V.2 is about taking care of one another in times of need. Christians have a God–given duty to correct and restore one another (Romans 15: 1 ─ 3). This is to be done gently. But we must be careful to deal with our own sins first. That way, Christ is exalted. Notice the entitlement of those who teach the word of God (v.6).
Are you faithfully supporting your Pastors, Evangelists and other servants of God? What should be our driving force in giving, (vv.7– 8)? God is all–knowing. He knows what we can do. It is a vain attempt to “mock” God. We must not think that if we sow to the flesh, we can escape the harvest of destruction and judgment that comes upon those who participate in sin. In vv.9–10, Paul speaks of doing good, yet he had argued in previous chapters that such works cannot justify (Galatians 2:16) or sanctify (Galatians 3:3) anyone. However, good works are an important fruit of the life of faith (5:5) not its source or root.

• Reflection: For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Eph 2:10 (NIV).
Unbelief
Unbelief is doubt, lack of faith. As unbelief hindered the working of miracles in Christ’s hometown so it still hinders the manifestation of the power of God in the lives of many people today. Refusing to believe the biblical truth, utter denial of the possibility of the power of God or rejection of God’s righteous standards often prevents us from experiencing God’s power among us even in the Church.

• Lord, help me to examine my walk with you in view of your word.
• Thank God for Jesus who by His death on the cross, took away our curse and granted us access into the blessings of Abraham.
• Offer a prayer of faith in line with Psalm 49:15
