God protects and provides Notice that several people played different roles to ensure the safety of David ─ Hushai, Zadok and Abiathar (v.15); Ahimaz, Jonathan, and the servant girl (v.17), the man in Bahurim and his wife (vv.18–19), Barzilai etc.
Similarly, there are roles for each of us in God’s kingdom, and no role is less important than the other. What is important is that each of us plays our part faithfully, without failing (Romans 12:6–8). Observe how God protected Jonathan and Ahimaaz from Absalom’s attack, so that they succeeded in delivering the message to David (vv.20–22).
Serving God faithfully involves a lot of risks. But we can depend on God’s protection as we carry out his assignments (Isaiah 43:1–4).
How did God provide for David and his men at this time of crisis (vv.27– 29)? This should encourage us that God is watching over us and he will not allow us to suffer unnecessary lack, the economic situation of the world and our nation notwithstanding (Psalm 23:1).

• What Next? Lots of people are going through difficult times because of the economic situation of their nation. Write down names of one or two people God is leading you to help and indicate how you will help them.
Born Again
The phrase “born again” which is otherwise known as spiritual rebirth occurs when we accept Christ as personal Saviour and Lord. It is the work that God particularly the Holy Spirit accomplishes in us which results in salvation experience. Born again experience gives us victory over our old sinful lifestyle.
Today’s Prayer:
• Thank you Lord, for always protecting and providing for me. Help me to remain faithful in carrying out your kingdom’s assignments.
• Pray for Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship and such others that run ministries to professionals.
• Offer a prayer of faith in line with John 12:32
