King Solomon continues his subject by subject prayer in this passage. From vv. 41–43, notice his primary concern as indicated in v.43b. It should be our concern as believers in Christ that the whole earth will hear the Gospel that Christ Jesus died for the sins of all the people of the world. Those who believe will be saved but those who reject the message will be condemned.
Read again vv.46–53. It seems to pre–suppose that one day Israel will be taken captive by their enemies. These are very pragmatic well–thought–out prayers. He solicits God’s forgiveness and their continual identification as God’s people. Let us as children of God pray similar prayers for our marriages, businesses, children, homes, old age, and even grandchildren. We will be amazed how God in answer to our prayers would keep and sustain us through the times through which we are passing.
