Bedtime Prayer – July 31, 2026 – Friday | God as Refuge
God is your refuge; let His strength be your pillow tonight.
BIBLE VERSE: Psalm 91:1–2 KJV — He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
MESSAGE
This psalm paints a picture of safety under God’s shadow. To dwell in His secret place is to live in constant awareness of His protection. Tonight, imagine resting beneath His wings, shielded from harm. Sleep becomes secure when you know your refuge is not fragile walls but the Almighty Himself. Trust Him to guard your night and strengthen your morning.
BEDTIME PRAYER:
Almighty God, my Refuge and my Fortress, I come before You tonight with a heart full of gratitude and trust. Thank You for being my unfailing Protector, my faithful Defender, and the safe place where my soul finds rest. No matter what has happened today or what tomorrow may bring, I choose to dwell in the secret place of the Most High, knowing that under Your shadow I am secure.
Father, as I lay down to sleep, I place myself completely into Your loving hands. Cover me with the shadow of Your wings and surround me with Your divine presence. Let Your peace fill every room of my home, and let Your holy angels stand guard around me and my loved ones throughout this night. May no evil come near us, and may every plan of the enemy be broken by Your mighty power.
Lord, be my shield against every danger, whether seen or unseen. Protect me from fear, from troubling dreams, from anxiety, and from every attack that seeks to steal the peace You have given me. Let no weapon formed against me prosper, and let Your perfect love drive out every fear from my heart. Remind me that You are watching over me even while I sleep, for You never slumber nor sleep.
I declare tonight that You alone are my refuge and my fortress. I will not place my confidence in my own strength, in human wisdom, or in the uncertain things of this world. My trust is firmly anchored in You, the Almighty God who never fails. Thank You because Your promises are sure, Your presence is constant, and Your faithfulness endures forever.
As I rest, restore my body, renew my mind, and refresh my spirit. Heal every place of weariness within me, calm every anxious thought, and fill my heart with the assurance that I am safe in Your care. Let this night be one of peaceful sleep, deep restoration, and quiet confidence in Your unfailing love.
When morning comes, awaken me with renewed strength, fresh joy, and unwavering faith. Help me to rise with confidence, knowing that the God who protected me through the night will also lead me through the day ahead. May I walk boldly, knowing that I am covered by Your grace, surrounded by Your presence, and upheld by Your mighty hand.
Thank You, Lord, for being my hiding place, my strong tower, and my everlasting shelter. I rest tonight beneath the shadow of the Almighty, confident that nothing can separate me from Your love or remove me from Your care.
