Tuesday, July 21, 2026: Trusting God’s Direction in the Unknown: Daily Devotional for Women
Today’s Bible Verse
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
One of the hardest parts of life is standing in the middle of a “gray area.”
Maybe you are waiting on medical results, praying for a breakthrough in a relationship, or trying to make a major decision about your career. We crave clarity. We want to see the whole staircase before we take the first step. But so often, God only gives us enough light for the very next step.
When we try to figure out the future on our own, we end up exhausted.
Proverbs 3:5-6 gives us a clear boundary: lean not on your own understanding. Our human understanding is limited by what we can see right now. But God sees the entire picture. Trusting Him with “all your heart” means releasing our need to control the outcome. It means saying, “Lord, I don’t know what tomorrow looks like, but I know You are already there.”
When we submit our worries and plans to Him, He promises to direct our paths. You don’t need all the answers today; you just need to trust the One who holds them.

Lord,
It is so hard to wait when I don’t know what the future holds. Forgive me for trying to control every detail and relying on my own limited understanding. Today, I choose to place my complete trust in You.
I hand over my questions, my doubts, and my need for control. Please guide my steps and clear the path ahead of me. Give me the peace that comes from knowing You love me and have a good plan for my life, even when I can’t see it.
