TOPIC: Connecting Strength Through Waiting On The Lord
Scripture: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. – Isaiah 40:31
Thought for the Day: Strength is foundational to living effectively and fulfilling destiny.
In life, exploits belong to the strong, especially those who know God (Daniel 11:32). And one of the greatest secrets of enduring strength is waiting on the Lord in prayer and fasting (Isaiah 40:31).
In a generation that celebrates speed, noise, and constant activity, many have forgotten the power of stillness before God. Waiting on the Lord is not a wasted time; it is an investment in spiritual capacity and authority. It is in His Presence that our weakness is exchanged for His strength, our confusion for His clarity, and our bondage for His liberty.
Strength is foundational to living effectively and fulfilling destiny.
Now, why is strength necessary?
- Strength undergirds health, vitality, and longevity.The Bible records that Moses, at 120 years, had his natural force unabated and his eyes were not dim (Deuteronomy 34:7). This reveals that strength sustains life and resists weakness. Please note that sickness itself is closely tied to weakness.
- Strength is key to exploits (Daniel 11:32). Weakness limits potential, but strength powers performance. Many carry the anointing but lack the strength to sustain results. That is like an aircraft with massive capacity but no fuel.
Waiting on the Lord is the principal channel through which this strength flows.
Beloved, waiting on the Lord operates in several dimensions:
Tarrying before God in prayer and the Word, cutting off distractions, and focusing entirely on Him. The Word is God. Therefore, to wait on the Lord is to dwell deeply in Scripture through study and meditation. The Word of God abiding in a believer produces strength and victory.
- Maintaining calmness and stillness
Strength is often found in quietness and focused attention. Distraction weakens spiritual capacity, but stillness enhances divine encounters. No wonder, Psalm 46:10 says,Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Beloved, waiting on the Lord is not just a religious activity or obligation; it is a divine strategy for spiritual and physical empowerment. Waiting on the Lord is what builds strength for health, progress, exploits and victory.
