Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 16 May 2026 (Saturday) Message. Today’s Word With Joel & Victoria Osteen.
Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 16 May 2026 TOPIC: Ascending and Descending
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.
Genesis 28:12, NIV
TODAY’S WORD
In Jacob’s dream in Genesis 28, he saw a stairway reaching to heaven with angels ascending and descending on it. They would come to earth to carry out God’s will, then they’d go back to heaven to get their next assignment. It was a constant flow of activity, thousands of angels. God was showing us how He’s always working, dispatching angels to rescue, to strengthen, to move people out of the way, to bring answers to prayers.
We all have situations where we could feel overwhelmed. We get a negative medical report, are dealing with an addiction, or are trying to care for elderly parents while raising our children. The pressure is too much. What you can’t see is angels are coming. God has already dispatched what you need. He’s not going to let you be defeated. Angels are about to break chains that have held you back. Angels are headed to your children. Angels are holding back wrong influences. Angels are en route, bringing courage, energy, and fortitude so you can rise up and do what God’s called you to do.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that when I believe, angels go to work, forces of darkness are pushed back, and things begin to change in my favor. Thank You that whether You do it tomorrow or next year, You will take care of my every need. I believe that angels are on the way to help me do what I’m called to do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
