📖 Bible Verse for Today

Hebrews 10:19, 22 (NIV)
“Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus… let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings…”

Daily Devotional Message

Today’s daily devotional reminds us of a powerful and life-changing truth—we have direct access to God. In Hebrews 10:19 and 22, we are invited to approach God not with fear or hesitation, but with confidence and sincerity.

This invitation is possible because of Jesus.

Before Christ, access to God’s presence was limited. The “Most Holy Place” in the temple represented God’s presence, and only the high priest could enter it, and only under specific conditions. It was a place marked by reverence and separation.

But everything changed through Jesus.

His sacrifice removed the barrier between God and humanity. Through His blood, we are no longer separated—we are invited.

The verse says, “since we have confidence…”

This word is important.

God does not want you to approach Him in fear, uncertainty, or doubt. He wants you to come with confidence—not because of your own perfection, but because of what Jesus has done for you.

Many people struggle with this.

They feel unworthy to come to God. They think their mistakes disqualify them. They wait until they feel “good enough” before they pray or seek Him.

But this passage reminds us that our access to God is not based on our performance—it is based on Christ’s finished work.

You do not have to earn your way into God’s presence.

You are invited because of grace.

The verse continues, “let us draw near to God with a sincere heart…”

God desires authenticity.

He is not looking for perfect words or polished prayers. He is looking for a genuine heart. You can come to Him honestly—with your questions, your struggles, your doubts, and your needs.

You do not need to hide anything.

You do not need to pretend.

You can come just as you are.

It also says, “with the full assurance that faith brings.”

Faith gives us confidence in God’s character. It assures us that He hears us, that He cares for us, and that He responds according to His perfect will.

This kind of assurance brings peace.

When you truly believe that God welcomes you, prayer becomes less of a duty and more of a relationship. It becomes a place of connection, comfort, and strength.

Another beautiful part of this passage is the idea of “drawing near.”

This is an active choice.

God has already made the way—you are invited to take the step.

Drawing near means prioritizing time with God.

It means choosing to seek Him daily.

It means building a relationship, not just visiting occasionally.

Sometimes, life becomes busy, and our connection with God becomes distant. We may feel spiritually dry or disconnected. But the invitation remains open.

You can always come back.

You can always draw near again.

God is not moving away from you—He is waiting for you to come closer.

If you feel distant today, take a step toward Him.

Spend time in prayer.

Open His Word.

Sit quietly in His presence.

He welcomes you.

Today, let go of hesitation.

Let go of fear.

Let go of the idea that you are not enough.

Through Jesus, you have full access to God.

Come with confidence.

Come with sincerity.

Come with faith.

Because when you draw near to God, you will find that He is already near to you.

Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving me access to Your presence through Jesus Christ. Thank You that I can come to You with confidence and without fear.

Lord, help me to draw near to You with a sincere heart. Remove any doubt or hesitation that keeps me from coming to You freely.

Teach me to trust in Your grace and to rest in the assurance of faith. Help me to build a deeper relationship with You through prayer and Your Word.

Thank You for always welcoming me and for being near to me in every moment.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection for Today

Do you approach God with confidence and sincerity, or do you hold back because of fear or doubt?

Key Takeaway

Through Jesus, you have direct access to God—draw near with confidence, sincerity, and faith.
