Daily Prayer for Today 3 May 2026, Sunday –A Prayer to Find Your Refuge in God Alone
Start your day with a powerful and uplifting prayer 3 May 2026. Receive strength, guidance, and spiritual encouragement to walk in purpose, live with integrity, and reflect God’s presence in all you do.
BIBLE VERSE FOR TODAY: “I cry to you, Lord; I say, ‘You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.’” – Psalm 142:5
There are moments in life when you feel alone—when support seems distant, answers are unclear, and the weight of your situation feels overwhelming. In those times, the heart longs for a place of safety, a place of assurance.
David, in a time of distress, made a powerful declaration: “You are my refuge.”
A refuge is a place of protection, a shelter in the storm, a safe space when everything else feels uncertain. David did not place his confidence in people, circumstances, or his own strength—he turned fully to God.
Sometimes, we search for security in things that cannot truly sustain us. We look to people, achievements, or resources for comfort. But sooner or later, we realize that only God can be our true refuge.
David also calls God his portion.
This means God was not just a source of help—He was enough. More than what David needed, more than what he could desire. In the middle of his struggles, he recognized that having God was greater than having everything else.
That is a deep level of trust.
It is saying, Even if nothing else changes, God is enough for me.
When you begin to see God as your refuge and your portion, fear begins to lose its grip. You become steady, not because everything is perfect, but because your foundation is secure.
So today, whatever you are facing, turn to God. Cry out to Him honestly. Take shelter in His presence.
Because in Him, you are safe.
In Him, you are sustained.
In Him, you have enough.
Let’s Pray:
Lord God, I come to You today and declare that You are my refuge. In times of uncertainty and difficulty, help me to run to You first.
Teach me not to depend on things that cannot truly sustain me, but to find my security in You alone. Remind me that You are my portion—that You are more than enough for my life.
Lord, in moments when I feel alone or overwhelmed, surround me with Your presence. Give me peace and assurance, knowing that I am safe in You.
Thank You for being my shelter, my strength, and my constant help.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
