Bible Reading
2 Timothy 3:10-17
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
Questions for Meditation
►Q3: Is there any command for me to obey?
►Q7: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
Scripture Union Daily Guide 26 April 2026 | OUTLINE
In this instruction to Timothy, Paul outlines four clear guidelines for remaining victorious while others are losing their faith and their lives; these include:
1. Following godly examples (2 Timothy 3:10-11). Read 2 Timothy 3:10-11 again, identify nine qualities from Paul’s example and reflect on how we can apply these to our lives.
2. Expecting persecution as part of the Christian journey (2 Timothy 3:12). Rather than being discouraged, we should prepare our minds that we may be required to suffer for Christ (Philippians 1:29) and that evil and deception will continue to increase as marks of the last days (2 Timothy 3:13). Observe how evil people are described in contrast to believers (2 Timothy 3:13).
3. Standing firm on what we have learnt and being mindful of our teachers (2 Timothy 3:14). With many false teachings and many spirits in the world today, we must discern wisely and stay faithful to God’s Word. We must be sure of who we follow (see 1 John 4:1-4) and who we allow to influence and shape our lives.
4. Being committed to studying and obeying the Word of God. How does Scripture help us in living a victorious life as believers (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Deuteronomy 32:46-47)?
