There are days when life feels heavy—when challenges press hard, emotions run deep, and the strength to keep going seems far away. In those moments, we may not always need immediate solutions as much as we need inner strength to endure.
Psalm 138:3 gives us a beautiful reminder of what happens when we call on God.
David says, “On the day I called, You answered me.” What a comforting truth. God is not distant from our cries. He hears us the moment we call. His response may not always come in the form we expect, but His presence is immediate and His attention is certain.
And what did God do? He increased the strength of his soul.
Sometimes we pray for the storm to end, but God first strengthens us to stand in the middle of it. He builds courage where fear once lived. He gives peace where anxiety tried to settle. He restores hope when discouragement threatens to take over.
This is strength of soul.
It is the quiet confidence that says, I can keep going because God is with me. It is not based on circumstances changing, but on God working within us.
There are battles that cannot be won by physical strength alone. They require spiritual endurance, emotional healing, and a heart anchored in God. And that is exactly what He provides.
So today, if your soul feels tired, call on Him.
Not because you have perfect words, but because you need His presence.
Not because you have it all together, but because you know He is your help.
And trust this: the God who hears also strengthens.
He will answer.
He will sustain.
He will increase your strength of soul.
Let’s Pray:
Lord God, thank You for being near whenever I call on You. Thank You that You hear my prayers and respond with love and faithfulness.
Today, I ask for strength—not just outward strength, but strength of soul. Strengthen my heart where I feel weak, my mind where I feel overwhelmed, and my spirit where I feel discouraged.
Help me to trust that You are working even when I cannot see immediate answers. Fill me with peace, courage, and the confidence that comes from knowing You are with me.
Lord, let Your presence be my strength and Your faithfulness be my comfort.
Thank You for always answering when I call.
