TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man, “Where are you?”

TODAY’S WORD
When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, they immediately felt guilty, ashamed, fearful, and hid from the God whose presence and company they had previously loved. When God called out to Adam, He was saying, “Where is the you I created? Where is the confident you, the joyful you, the peaceful you, the you that loves to be with Me?” He called them to come out of hiding, because God can’t heal what’s hidden. God came to them to bring them out of isolation, fear, shame, and regrets, and to restore them to fellowship with Him.
God is asking, “Where are you?” Did a disappointment, a breakup, a setback, or a mistake take your passion, your hope, your joy, your kindness and generosity? Have you shrunk back into hiding? When you’ve lost who you are, you have to make the choice to come out of the condemnation, guilt, brokenness, and unworthiness. God is right there to restore the joy, the talent, the favor, and the confidence. This is a new day. Do your part and come to Him.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You didn’t create me to hide from You. Thank You that I can come to You and unload all the condemnation and fear and feelings of unworthiness. I am believing that You are restoring all that has been lost and giving so much more. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
