Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 13 March 2026 TOPIC: A Masterpiece Never Makes Itself
TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
Ephesians 2:10, NLT
TODAY’S WORD
It’s interesting that a masterpiece never makes itself. Without da Vinci, there is no Mona Lisa painting—just another painted canvas, no big deal. Without Michelangelo, there is no statue of David—just another big slab of marble that others thought was nothing special. The difference was the maker. The good news is that your maker is the Most High God. It’s not up to you to become a masterpiece; that’s His job. You don’t have to strive, perform, and live under pressure. You can relax, knowing that you’re a masterpiece in the making.
You have some flaws, some areas where you need to improve. You’re not finished. The master is still at work. Don’t get discouraged while you’re being changed. Your divine designer knows exactly what you need, when you need it, and where you need it. What looks like a mistake or a flaw to us is not to Him. When He has added some more strokes, more color, more definition, more shadowing, it begins to make sense. When it all comes together, you will become the masterpiece God created you to be.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You that You created me as a masterpiece, down to the smallest detail of what I would need to fulfill Your plan for my life. Thank You that You’re working in my life, and You will bring me to completion. I am looking beyond the messy areas to see the masterpiece in the making. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
