There are seasons when life feels overwhelming—when challenges seem bigger than our strength and circumstances try to overshadow our faith. In those moments, it is easy to focus on the weight of what we are going through rather than the greatness of the God we serve.
But this passage in Psalm 57 shifts our perspective. It reminds us that God’s lovingkindness is vast, stretching beyond what we can see, reaching to the very heavens. His truth is unshakable, higher than every fear, every doubt, and every situation we face.
When David wrote these words, he wasn’t in a place of comfort. He was in a cave, hiding, uncertain, and under pressure. Yet, instead of allowing his situation to define his outlook, he chose to exalt God above it.
That is a powerful lesson for us.
Exalting God does not mean denying our struggles. It means lifting our eyes above them. It means declaring that no matter how big our problems seem, God is greater. His love is deeper. His truth is higher.
Sometimes, the breakthrough we need is not a change in circumstances, but a shift in focus.
When we begin to exalt God in the middle of our situation, something changes within us. Fear begins to lose its grip. Peace starts to rise. Hope is restored. Not because everything around us has changed, but because we have placed God back in His rightful position—above all.
God’s glory is meant to be revealed not just in the easy moments, but in the difficult ones too. When we choose to honor Him despite what we feel or see, we create space for His presence to fill our hearts and guide our steps.
So today, no matter what you are facing, make a decision to lift God higher. Above your worries. Above your fears. Above your uncertainties. Because He is already above all—He is simply inviting you to see it and trust Him there.

Lord God, You are great and greatly to be praised. Your lovingkindness is beyond measure, and Your truth stands firm above everything I face.
Today, I choose to exalt You above my circumstances. Above my fears, my worries, and every challenge before me. Help me to lift my eyes and fix my heart on You.
When I feel overwhelmed, remind me of Your greatness. When I feel uncertain, anchor me in Your truth. Let Your presence fill my heart with peace and confidence in who You are.
Be exalted in my life, Lord. Let Your glory be seen in everything I go through. Teach me to trust You more and to honor You in every season.
