God’s power whenever and wherever activated by faith performs amazing wonders (Luke 9:43a). Obviously, Jesus trained, empowered and trusted His disciples to handle cases as they preach the gospel and bring Him feedback (Luke 10:16). The father to the demon possessed boy had approached the disciples of Jesus with hope that they would heal his boy but alas, they disappointed him (Luke 9:40). Why did the disciples fail in their spiritual assignment?
Check out these possible reasons:
* Low spiritual strength (Luke 9:40b).
* Unbelief and societal corruption (Luke 9:41).
* Lack of faith (Matthew 17:20)
* Stubbornness of the demon (Luke 9:42).
Notice what Jesus said about fasting and prayer in handling spiritual warfare (Matthew 17:21). Thanks to God that the boy’s father knew the right place to channel his case (Luke 9:38). Who do you turn to when all confidence vested in the anointed men of God seems to fail you? Mark 7:24-30; Luke 18:1-8. Any lesson to draw from Jesus’ intervention in Luke 9:41b-42?
