Today’s Reading
Psalm 16:1-7
I bless the Lord, who gives me counsel; in the night also my heart instructs me. – Psalm 16:7 (NRSVUE)
Where I live, we have a shrub called an azalea. Azaleas have beautiful blooms in early spring, thrive in partial shade, and grow quite large if not trimmed. They tend to go unnoticed the majority of the year, simply looking like a dark green shrub. But in the early spring, beautiful blooms adorn azaleas with bright colors that are pleasing to the eye.
Thinking of the way azaleas go unnoticed, I wondered how many times we go through the year not noticing the grace and love of Jesus — only to realize during the Christmas and Easter seasons what Christ means to us and how his grace and love makes us feel. Let us be mindful not to let our Lord and Savior ever go unnoticed. Jesus’ grace and love have no boundaries. His love for us is constant and never-ending!
