Managing money isn’t just for adults; it’s for everyone. As a teenager, you must master this skill early in life so that you won’t live a broke life when you become an adult. Before my children became teenagers, we taught them financial stewardship, and they all adhered to it. Today, they are all doing well financially, all thanks to the grace of God.
In today’s Bible reading, the ant was deemed wise because it knows how to save food during summer when there is surplus. It is a wise decision to set financial goals. If you get allowances from your parent or guardian or earn from your small business, you need to learn how to save before spending.
To manage your finances effectively, you can use a piggy bank or a savings app on your phone and save daily, weekly, or monthly. You can save towards your self-development, such as learning a skill or taking a professional course. Finally, keep a record of your spending; buy only what you need and not what you want. By doing these intentionally, you would learn financial discipline, financial accountability, and financial management skills.
