Open Heaven For Teens – 12 January 2026, Monday Daily Devotional Message By Pastor E.A Adeboye And Pastor (Mrs) Folu Adeboye
Open Heaven For Teens – 12 January 2026 TOPIC: Apologise When You’re Wrong
MEMORISE: A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous Words stir up anger.
Proverbs 15:1
BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 5:23-24
23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
MESSAGE:
Some teenagers do not see any reason to apologise when they are wrong. Some of them have developed a bad attitude that has become part of them, and they see nothing wrong with any of their actions or words. Saying “sorry” when you are wrong isn’t just a polite phrase; it’s a bridge to healing and restoration.
Today’s Bible reading shows that God values mended relationships even more than rituals of worship. A sincere apology goes beyond just saying words; it also requires acknowledging what you did, expressing regret, and taking steps to make things right. For example, when apologising about your wrongs, instead of saying, “Sorry if you were offended,” try saying, “I’m sorry for what I said. I was wrong, and l’ll do better next time.” This approach shows that you understand the impact of your actions and words, and that you are committed to makinga change.
My dear child, apologising for your wrongs is not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of humility. It shows that yoU value people and relationships enough to admit that you’re wrong. Be intentional about apologizing whenever you are in the wrong.
REFLECTION:
Send a sincere apology to anyone you may have offended.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: MATTHEW 10:1-23, GENESIS 29-30
HYMNS 10 AT THE CROSS
1 Alas! And did my Savior bleed
And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?
Chorus
At the cross, at the cross
Where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
2 Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! Grace unknown!
And love beyond degree!
Chorus
At the cross, at the cross
Where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
3 Well might the sun in darkness hide
And shut his glories in,
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
For man the creature’s sin.
Chorus
At the cross, at the cross
Where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
4 Thus might I hide my blushing face
While His dear cross appears,
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,
And melt my eyes to tears.
Chorus
At the cross, at the cross
Where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
5 But drops of grief can ne’er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give my self away
’Tis all that I can do.
Chorus
At the cross, at the cross
Where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
