Scripture Union Daily Guide – 15 December 2025 | OUTLINE
God’s promise to Abraham was not fulfilled instantly. It is estimated that a period of about 700 years lies between the promise to give his descendants possession of Canaan and its fulfilment. For about 450 of those years, Jacob and his descendants settled in Egypt first as an honoured guests and later as suffering slaves. But at the right time, God sent Moses and Aaron to redeem them. Egypt wanted to frustrate God’s purpose for the children of Israel, but God did not allow it. Go through Psalms 105:27-38 again and observe what God did to purchase freedom for His covenant people. Can you think of similar battle (seen or unseen) that God is fighting on your behalf?
God kept guard over His people all through their journey in the wilderness, meeting their daily needs of food, water, protection, etc. Even when they rebelled against Him, He never forsook His covenant with them. He brought them into the Promised Land to inherit it, fulfilling His promise to the letter. God is faithful; He will fulfil all His promises to us as well. But we need to take to heart His reason for all He is doing. Check this in Psalms 105:45.
