Open Heaven For Teens – 13th November 2025 TOPIC: Be Thankful
MEMORISE
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Psalms 103:2
SCRIPTURE READING
Luke 17:11-19
11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.
17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

God expects His children to be appreciative of the numerous blessings He bestows on them. However, it is unfortunate that some Christians are ungrateful to God. They forget His goodness soon after receiving His blessings and begin to speak against Him. For instance, an ungrateful Christian might say, “God, even though I asked for a B in my exam, would it have been too much for You to allow me to score an A?” Some Christians will get a job after many years of endless disappointments, and when they receive their pay cheque, they will say, “God, but you know this salary can’t sustain me. You should have allowed me to get a betterpaying job.”
Some human beings can be difficult; rather than appreciate the good done to them, they will complain about almost everything. Yet, God, in His infinite mercy, still gives them many benefits daily. My dear child, you are young and have your whole life ahead of you. Stop every act of ingratitude you may be exhibiting towards God or people. Ingratitude is an act of robbery against God; it is dangerous because a person’s joy cannot be full if he or she is not thankful.
KEY POINT
Say, “Thank you, Jesus”, for the next five minutes.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
Ezekiel 27:1-28:26, Hebrews 11:17-31
HYMN 4
BE GLAD IN THE LORD AND REJOICE
1.Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
All ye that are upright in heart;
And ye that have made him your choice,
Bid sadness and sorrow depart.
Refrain: Rejoice, rejoice!
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice!
2.Be joyful, for He is the Lord,
On earth and in heaven supreme;
He fashions and rules by His word;
The Mighty and strong to redeem
3.What though in the conflict for right
Your enemies almost prevail,
God’s armies, just hid from your sight,
Are more than the foes which assail.
4.Though darkness surround you by day,
Your sky by the night be o’ercast,
Let nothing your spirit dismay,
But trust till the danger is past.
5.Be glad in the Lord and rejoice,
His praises proclaiming in song;
With harp, and with organ and voice
The loud hallelujahs prolong!
