Today’s Word
In Luke 5, Peter let Jesus borrow his boat, which was his business, his source of income. He could have said, “I’m too busy. Go find another boat.” But he was generous in giving his resources to Jesus. This was symbolic of putting God first place, of honoring God with your firstfruits, the first part of your income. If you’re going to see supernatural provision, you have to be a giver. Invite Him into your business and give Him your first fruits.
When you let God use your boat, so to speak, you’re setting yourself up for overflow, for abundance. Most people think, “If I give, I’m going to have less.” No, that’s a seed you’re sowing. You can’t give God something without Him giving you more back in return.
Peter owned the boat, but God owns the sea. God controls the universe. When you let Him use your boat, He’ll cause the fish to find your net. He’ll cause contracts, opportunities, and good breaks to track you down. That’s the way our God is. He’s a net-breaking God.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You for being the God of infinite grace who always exceeds my greatest expectations. Thank You that as I give freely of myself and my resources, You will bless me to the point of overflowing. I declare that I dare to believe that You are a net-breaking God. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
