TOPIC: Christ is Superior to Moses
Opening Prayer
P1: Thou who art light eternal, shine through the darkness of my heart to make a me light to this world as I mediate on this passage.
BIBLE READING
Hebrews 3:1-11
1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
QUESTIONS FOR MEDITATION
► What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
► Is there any bad example for me to avoid or warning for me to heed?
DAILY POWER 28 JULY 2025 – OUTLINE
Moses was regarded by the Jews as the greatest of all men. Yet, Jesus is by far greater than he, how (Hebrews 3:1-6)? Both Moses and Jesus were sent by God and were faithful in what God sent them to do. Nevertheless, Jesus is counted more worthy of glory because unlike Moses who served in the house of God, Jesus is described as the builder of this house (Hebrews 1:2,10).
Moses served as a faithful servant but Christ is a Son over the house Hebrews 3:6. Hebrews 3:7-11 give a warning for those who continue to reject the Gospel. The Israelites in the wilderness provoked God by their unbelief and He punished them by not allowing them to enter the Promised Land. Are there people around you who have not yet believed in their hearts that Jesus is the only way to God? Warn them of God’s coming judgment.
