MEMORY VERSE
“But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Corinthians 15: 10)
SCRIPTURE READING: John 5: 1-12 (KJV)
1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?

Prior to our Focal Scripture, Jesus had healed the son of a noble man (see John 4 vs. 46-54). In the account of John, it was the second miracle that Jesus performed, the first being the turning of water to wine in the wedding in Cana of Galilee (see John 2 vs. 1-11). Jesus did not sit back to receive accolades after healing the son of the noble man, who was at the point of death. He simply moved on, and did another miracle at Bethesda.
Friend, even when you have already made progress and achieved major results, keep moving. Move on to the next assignment. Move on to the next mission that heaven has for you. Move on to your next goal. Move on to face the new battles that you must fight and win. Move on to the next level that heaven has in store for you. Move on with your destiny mandate no matter the results you have already recorded. Always move on.
Jesus was clearly the rave of the moment. He was doing things that no man could do. His fame had already begun to rise in Galilee where he turned water to wine. His last miracle happened because the noble man heard about how He had turned water to wine. Accolades would have been in order if they came to Jesus, but He moved on to Jerusalem. Never allow the accolades of men to be the beginning of the end of your movement in destiny.
Will accolades come? Yes. Should you ever allow them to distract you? No. Will people be proud of your achievements? Yes. Should that make you lose sight of the next steps that El Roi wants you to take? No. Don’t allow your achievements to slow you down; don’t allow your accomplishments to distract you. There is more to do if you dare to move to ‘Jerusalem’. There is more that your generation is expecting from you already.
Don’t be counted amongst them that slowed down because achievements had begun to trickle in. Don’t allow your accolades and accomplishments to slow you down.
DECLARATION:
I will not celebrate or elevate unfruitfulness; if it remains unfruitful, I cut it down, in Jesus’ name!
