Bible Text
Hebrews 2:1-4(NIV)
2 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, 3 how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. 4 God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.
Meditation Question
► Is there any bad example for me to avoid or warning for me to heed?
DAILY POWER 26 JULY 2025 – OUTLINE
Do you have friends or family members with whom you have shared the Gospel but they have never surrendered their lives to Him? Today’s reading is a warning to all sinners. In yesterday’s portion we learnt that Jesus Christ is God, Creator, Saviour and the Son of God. Even angels worship Him and are His servants. In the light of all these, our response should be to surrender to Him. What is the fate of those who continue to refuse to surrender to Jesus Christ? Read Hebrews 2:2-3a.
In the Old Testament times, those who rejected God’s word delivered by the angels were punished by God. However, for us, God has revealed His word through His Son Jesus Christ who is greater than the angels. Therefore, the consequences for not heeding the word of God are even more severe than for those in the Old Testament.
