SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 13:6-9(KJV)
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Streams of Joy 12th July 2025 Devotional – MESSAGE
In our Focal Scripture, Jesus told a parable of the fig tree that had no fruits for the owner to harvest. One of the factors that may hinder productivity amongst figs, is when the fig tree is immature. An immature fig tree may bear fruit, but the fruits will fall off without ripening. Immaturity of the fig tree is a set up for unfruitfulness. Immaturity from the fig makes a mess of the productivity. Immaturity of the figs bring about unproductivity.
Friend, when you show immaturity, you are simply scuttling your own productivity by yourself. When you choose to be immature, you are making room for your fruits to fall off too early, without being ripe. When you refuse to grow in your walk with God, you are allowing your immaturity get in the way of your results. When you fail to grow to higher levels and higher realms, you are simply making room for productivity failure.
There will be times when God allows you to birth results that are above the paygrade of your maturity; at such times, be intentional to grow up to match with the results that the mercy of God has given you. Be intentional to grow your capacity to match the results that came to you by grace and mercy. Be intentional to grow up your spirit man to match the divine manifestations that God has granted you.
It’s not okay to do life without being intentional with your growth. Be deliberate to grow on all levels. Grow in your walk with God; grow in your capacity; grow in your discipline; grow in the manifestation of the gifts and fruit of the Spirit; grow in grace and in favour with God and man; grow in the fulfillment of your destiny mandate; grow above your past mistakes; grow above everything that you kept side by side with your growth.
It is not enough to bear fruit; it is important that you bear fruits that will remain; it is important that you bear fruits that will not go down because of your immaturity.
