Seeds of Destiny 22nd May 2025 (Thursday) SOD Devotional Message
TOPIC: Shielded By The Word
SCRIPTURE: He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. PSALM 91:4.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You are too worded to be shieldless.
The scripture makes it abundantly clear that the Word of God is a shield of defence against arrows of disaster and destruction. Our anchor scripture says that His truth shall be thy shield…And truth is the Word of God (John 17:17).
So, the Word of God you hear or receive becomes framed into a shield of defense around your life (Proverbs 30:5). And when you are moving about, you are not moving with an unprotected chest because you are shielded by the Word. You are too worded to be shieldless.
As you go about your normal life physically, people may not see anything but in the realm of the spirit, your life is surrounded, and shielded roundabout. So, when evil arrows and flaming missiles are looking for your head, they are fired back to the sender.
I read the story of an American soldier some time ago. During a war, a gun was fired at him, and the bullet hit his chest. The bullet miraculously dropped on the ground; it couldn’t penetrate his body. What happened? It was discovered that the man had a little Bible inside the pocket at his chest region. The bullet went through his uniform, went through the Bible and stopped at Psalm 91, then fell off. And the man was preserved. Amazing!
God decided to use that incident to show the world that His Word preserves. When you stuff your spirit with the Word, it becomes your shield and buckler against the arrows of the enemy. Even this Word you are reading now is shielding your life against every arrow of witchcraft, arrow of premature death, disaster, and tragedy, in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: You are too worded not to be shieldless.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Read, study and meditate on the Word of God daily.
2. Consistently make scriptural declaration over your life and family.
3. Refuse to believe what is not in line with the Word of God concerning your life.
PRAYER: Father, it is written, no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Therefore, every arrow of destruction sent against me and my family, return to your sender in Jesus’ Name. I shall fulfil my days, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
