Night Prayer – May 18, 2025 – Sunday
“The Lord said to Aaron, ‘You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any share among them; I am your share and your inheritance among the Israelites.’” (Numbers 18:20, NIV)
Night Prayer – “You Are My Inheritance”
Heavenly Father, as the stars begin to shine and this day gently fades, I quiet my heart before You. The world may measure riches by what is owned and passed down, but tonight, I anchor my soul in what You told Aaron: You are my share and my inheritance. That truth is enough to carry me through this night.
Lord, I confess how easily I chase after things that rust, fade, and slip through my fingers. But in the stillness of this hour, I remember—what I truly possess is not found in what I’ve gathered, but in who You are to me. You are my portion. You are my reward. You are enough.

Tonight, I release the striving. I let go of the anxious wondering about what I lack or what tomorrow might require. You are not just with me in the light—you are my inheritance in the darkness too. You never change, never leave, never grow distant. Your nearness is my peace.
Teach me to value You more than comfort, more than success, more than anything that could ever be written into a will or a title. Like Aaron, may I find rest in knowing that having You is better than having land or legacy. When the world offers more, remind me I already have everything in You.
Cover me tonight with the shelter of Your presence. Let the security of being Yours calm my thoughts and cradle my sleep. Be the keeper of my dreams, the guardian of my rest, and the whisper of hope in the silence. I lay down not empty, but full of grace—because You are mine.
And as I sleep, Father, remind me that nothing I own can compare to what I’ve received from You. You are the portion that never runs dry, the inheritance that never loses value, the treasure that never decays. Let this assurance settle deep in my bones tonight.
Thank You, Lord, for being my share. I close this day not in fear or regret, but in grateful peace, knowing that I belong to the One who holds all things—and chooses to hold me. In You alone I rest, and in You alone I rise.
Amen.
