TOPIC: Lessons From The Life Of Job (4)

MEMORY VERSE: Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped. – Job 1:20

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: Your attitude to life’s issues will determine your ultimate outcome.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: Receive a positive outlook to life, in the name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE – Job 1:13-22

13. And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:
14. And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15. And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
16. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

17. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
18. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

19. And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.
20. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

21. And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
22. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

MFM Devotional 16th May 2025 MESSAGE

Job had an attitude of worship even in the face of challenges and all eventually ended in praise for him. The Bible tells us that in all of Job’s trials, he never charged God foolishly. Even when he was at the lowest ebb of his life, when he lost everything, when those who should comfort him were confronting him, when his beloved helpmeet even suggested that he should curse God and die, Job never charged God foolishly. The Scripture recorded that he bowed and worshipped God.

Beloved, what is your attitude to life’s challenges? Are you quick to throw the Bible away at the slightest provocation of challenges? Are you one of those who would ask if Jesus was sleeping when the challenges came? Although nobody is praying for Job’s kind of challenges, the fact remains that every human born of a woman would definitely have a dose of life’s challenges. They are part of life. When challenges come, what is your disposition? What words come out of your mouth? Do you throw tantrums everywhere and start to become saucy?

Beloved, our attitude matters as it determines our altitude in life. We need to have a positive attitude like David who encouraged himself in the Lord in the face of his trials. We must learn the habit of encouraging ourselves because we are in an age when there is a scarcity of encouragers. It is now your responsibility to encourage yourself and forge ahead.

It is quite alarming how even believers are becoming really depressed and suicidal these days because of life’s problems. The rate at which people now take their own precious lives because of challenges is now very worrisome simply because they could not see beyond what the devil is advertising to them.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel, beloved. If the story of Job ended in praise, who told you that you will not eventually testify? Better days are ahead. Please, encourage yourself and continue to trust God, and surely, your change will come in a big way in Jesus’ name.
