DAILY GUIDE 3RD MAY 2025 OUTLINE:
Paul seems to be answering possible questions the Galatians would ask him because they felt he was like any other Jew preaching like the Judaizers. He tells them that his gospel was not of human origin (Galatians 1:11-12) but directly from and of Jesus Christ Himself. He was called from a background of persecuting the church (Galatians 1:13-14) and was directed by God to be an apostle to the Gentiles. The testimony of his early days further strengthened his suitability to admonish the Galatians.
Paul (Galatians 1:15), like Isaiah (Isaiah 49:1) and Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1:5) was convinced of his calling and commissioning by God from birth and so he did his work confidently. Thus, he showed these believers that his message and calling were authentic and worth believing. Reflect on the time of your calling and Christian life. Are you confident of your relationship with the Lord? Are you sure of your purpose in this life?
Notice the steps Paul took in Galatians 1:16b-18. What do you think was the purpose of this visit (Galatians 1:18)? What lessons do you learn from this concerning your personal growth and development? Also observe his lovely testimony in Galatians 1:23-24. Has your conversion made any noticeable change to your way of life? Are there other people therefore, glorifying God because of you?
And So:
Many people give testimonies about their Christian life. Do you have one? Then thank God for your salvation and endeavour today to share your testimony with others around you.
* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
