DEVOTIONAL MESSAGE FOR TODAY:
John begins his letter not with a distant theological idea, but with a personal experience:
“What we have heard… seen… looked at… touched…”
He speaks of Jesus — the Word of Life — not as a story or a theory, but as someone real, present, and tangible.
John had walked with Him, eaten with Him, watched Him heal, and stood at the foot of the cross. He had seen the risen Christ with his own eyes. And now, he writes to invite us into that same fellowship — not just with him, but with God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
The amazing truth here is this:
👉 Our faith is rooted in a Person, not just principles.
👉 Christianity is not merely belief — it is relationship.
Fellowship with God isn’t limited to apostles or eyewitnesses. Through the Holy Spirit, we too can walk in closeness with Jesus today. And when we do, our joy becomes complete — not because life is perfect, but because our connection with the Source of Life is real and deep.
Prayer of the Day:
Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of fellowship with You — made possible through Jesus Christ.
I am humbled that I can know You, not just from what I read, but through personal experience and relationship.
Today, I ask that You draw me closer. Let me see You in my everyday moments. Let me hear You through Your Word and sense Your presence near.
Just as John heard, saw, and touched You, I pray for a deeper, more intimate connection with You in my own life.
Let my faith be more than belief — let it be relationship.
Help me to walk closely with You, to abide in You, and to share the joy of knowing You with others.
Lord, make my joy complete in You today. Let Your presence be my peace, and Your Word my guide.
Keep me rooted in truth and rich in fellowship with You and with those around me.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
