Seeds of Destiny 2nd March 2025 SOD Daily Devotional Reading Message
TOPIC: Escaping the Corruption of the World
SCRIPTURE: “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” 2 Peter 1:4
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You escape the corruption of the world by being buried in the Word of God.
We live in a world of wickedness and corruption, a world filled with traps, snares, potholes, and pitfalls. It is a world where sin doesn’t need to be sought out—it looks for you.
In the past, we might have thought that sin was something you had to seek to fall into, but now, sin is relentlessly looking for people to ensnare.
There are websites that may seem harmless with innocent titles, but once you open the pages, you may find yourself ensnared, leading you into terrible sins if you lack self-control.
2 Peter 1:4 says,
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
Please take note of, “…having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” It is indeed possible to escape the corruption of the world system. So, how do we escape the sins and corruption of the world? It is through the Word of God! You escape the corruption of the world by being buried in the Word of God.
Understand this: whenever you begin to distance yourself from the Word of God, you are, in effect, distancing yourself from the God of the Word. And when you distance yourself from God, you become a victim of the corruptions of the world.
Beloved, determine to hold fast to the Word of God so you can escape the corruption of the world.
Remember this: You escape the corruption of the world by being buried in the Word of God.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind not to be corrupted by the evil system of the world.
2. Diligently give yourself to prayer and the study of the Word to escape the corruption of the world.
PRAYER:
Father, I receive the grace to escape the corruption of the world. Help me to hold fast to Your Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
