TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
Hezekiah was very wealthy and highly honored. He built special treasury buildings for his silver, gold, precious stones, and spices, and for his shields and other valuable items…for God had given him great wealth.

Today’s Word
King Ahaz was an ungodly king of Judah and the father of Hezekiah. He closed the temple, sold the sacred treasures, and set up idols for worship. Enemy armies repeatedly defeated him, leaving the nation decimated. The people were poor and barely surviving. When Ahaz died, Hezekiah took over. He was raised in all that dysfunction, compromise, and defeat. But Hezekiah did just the opposite of his father. He reopened the temple, tore down the idols, brought the people back to worshiping God.

The Lord answered his prayers and defeated enemy armies. The nation flourished again with God’s favor and blessing, and God increased Hezekiah greatly. When you keep God first place, there is a blessing on your life that causes you to prosper. Instead of living worried about how you’re going to make it, keep honoring God, keep being a good steward of what He’s given you. Take the limits off Him and have an abundant mentality.
God has favor coming that will cause you to increase, to rise higher, to accomplish things beyond your own ability. He takes pleasure in doing so.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
“Father, thank You for the blessings that always follow when I walk in humility and put You first in all my ways. Show me if there is anything that is holding me back from the abundant life You have promised. I believe that Your favor will be poured out on my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
