TOPIC: Kindness: The Fruit of the Spirit
When the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us … because of his mercy.
– Titus 3:4-5
As a Christian, once you are grafted into the vine of Jesus Christ, you will begin to see yourself bearing God’s fruit in your life. The way you look and act will begin to change as you become more like your Father in Heaven.

One of the fruits that will grow in your life will be kindness. This word denotes a mellowing of a disposition that once was harsh and austere. It is this divine attribute that makes God loving yet righteous.
Kindness doesn’t take away from God’s goodness, rather, it makes God’s goodness accessible to us. Kindness is the patient love of God that would allow Him to humble Himself and leave the portals of Heaven to meet us where we were, to gently share His love with us.
By bearing God’s kindness in your life, you will be sharing the love and patience that God bestowed upon mankind (Ephesians 2:1-9).
It’s not human nature to love others who are unloving toward you—or to put the needs of others before your own—but it is the fruit of His Spirit alive and working within your heart. Today, reflect on God’s kindness in your life and remember to show others the same love he has bestowed upon you.
PRAY: Lord, Teach me to be kind. Let me increase in this fruit I do not want to be hard-hearted or harsh. I want to be accessible, kind, patient, and good to others like you. Amen.
