TOPIC: Your Character And Your Capacity
SCRIPTURE: In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. JOB 1:22.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot have the character of a beetle car and be given the capacity of a truck.
Godly character has been identified as a major key to a productive life and impactful destiny. Men of impact are men of solid character. It takes godly character to go up in life.
Now, one thing to know about character is that Character determines capacity. This means, your character determines the responsibility that God entrust to you.
You cannot have the character of a beetle car and be given the capacity of a truck. You cannot have the character of a dog and be given the capacity of a lion. You cannot have the character of a vulture and be given the capacity of an eagle. So, your character determines your capacity; your character determines your responsibility.
It will interest you to know that it was when the character of Jacob changed that his capacity also changed.
This means that your capacity cannot be enlarged until your character is positively transformed. You cannot become who you are meant to become until you let go of who you used to be.
Today, God can do nothing with many people because of their character.They might have seen visions of how God would use them mightily or of how much money they would make for the kingdom of God, but such visions would end as nightmares or daydreams unless their negative character changes.
There are people who will arrive eternity without entering Chapter One of the Book of their destiny. There are people who will meet Jehovah and He will tell them that they didn’t scratch the surface of what they were called to accomplish on earth. This could be because they didn’t have the character that matches their destiny. How can one have the anointing of an apostle and have the character of a criminal?
Beloved, God is saying that the anointing or the grace is available, but you need the matching character to become what you are meant to be in life.
Remember this: You cannot have the character of a beetle car and be given the capacity of a truck.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Ask God for the grace to grow ingodly character so you can grow in capacity and responsibility.
2. Remain focused in developing godly character.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for showing me the place of character in developing capacity. I ask that You help me to develop Godly character, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
