TOPIC: Thirst He Satisfies
If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.
– John 7:37-38
God created mankind to know Him and to have a relationship with Him — we need Him. We have been created with an innate hunger and thirst for God that nothing else can possibly satisfy. In those times when you feel like your life is empty or lacks direction, it may be that you are trying to quench that thirst for God with something else.

Sometimes we mistake our need for God with another type of need, and attempt to fill it with possessions or people who we think can fill that void. No matter how attractive those things might appear, they cannot possibly satisfy us and soon we’ll thirst again.
God offers us a way to quench our thirst so that we will never thirst again. God invites us to drink of the water that He provides through His Word. Every day, set aside time to study the Bible, and let His Word guide your life. When you fill yourself with His goodness, the Bible promises us that streams of living water—true Spirit-filled life—will flow from us.
Lord Jesus, I realize that you are the only one who can satisfy me, let me not seek anything else to satisfy me. Fill me until you flow out of me. Give me a hunger and thirst for your righteousness.
