TOPIC: A Day with Joni ~ Leaning on the Everlasting Arms
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
– Romans 8:31
Not just who, but what can be against the children of God? If we concentrate on our troubles, we become afraid. Fear strangles faith, but trust will be our companion on the path of safety when we go knowing that God goes before us.

Though it may seem like one to us, nothing is an emergency to God! We never walk alone. I admit, sometimes the path seems like an uphill climb. Though I may wobble, I know to lean on the One who is with me. I’m reminded of the powerful words of the classic hymn, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms:
What have I to dread, what have I to fear, Leaning on the everlasting arms? I have blessed peace with my Lord so near, Leaning on the everlasting arms.
This I know – God greets our bad news with His good news. I’ll take that exchange any day! How about you?
O Lord, help me to lean into You! I confess, I often lose sight of the forest through the trees; my perspective shrinks; I fret and worry. You are for me! Who or what could ever stand against me? Lord, will You help me to embrace and embody this marvelous truth today? Amen.
