OPENING PRAYER: Plant my steps in the sure promises of your word today, dear Lord.

Scripture Union Daily Guide – 4th December 2024 Outline:
The psalmist begins by acknowledging how lovely the dwelling place of God is and how he longs to be in such closeness to Him. Even creatures build their homes close to God (v.3). Do you also have this kind of deep and genuine longing to be in God’s presence?
Read vs.5-8 again. What do you learn from these verses? The “Valley of Baca” (v.6) is a metaphor for the difficulties the pilgrims pass through while travelling to Jerusalem. Similarly, we are on a pilgrimage on earth and do pass through moments in life when everything seems hopeless and helpless. From where can we derive strength at such moments (v.5)?
What can you learn from the Psalmist in vs.10-12?
Only the one who truly appreciates and sees what a privilege it is to be in the presence of God can make a statement as he did in v.10. In His presence, we receive guidance and protection (v.11). Nothing beats the joy you have when you put your trust in God. Life often gets us into difficult situations, but we must hold on to God who sees the end from the beginning,

Closing Prayer
Dear Father, thank you that you have made a way, through Christ, that all can come boldly into your presence. Please help me to nurture a growing desire for your presence, and never take this grace for granted.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Psalms 115:14
“The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.”

‣ His grace upon the leadership of the Region, the Regional Chairman, the Regional Coordinator, and the entire Regional Committee
‣ His hand upon their families for good
PRAY FOR:
‣ Greater manifestation of God’s wisdom and grace upon the leaders
‣ The Regional Chairman, his health, finance and family as he leads the family of God.
‣ Members of the Regional Committee, for their health, finance and wellbeing of their families as they discharge their responsibilities
‣ Wisdom, grace and power for the Regional Coordinator to carry out his functions, and also the shield of God over his household.
Scripture Union is an international, interdenominational, evangelical Christian organization. It was founded in 1867, and works in partnership with individuals and churches across the world.
