Rod Parsley Devotional 2nd December 2024, Monday Message
TOPIC: A Day with Joni ~ Our God of Second Chances
For He knows how we are formed; He remembers that we are dust.
– Psalm 103:14
Pick up your Bible and see for yourself. Cover to cover, they’re there – people who needed, and got, second chances. Adam and Eve. Jonah. David. Elijah. Peter. John-Mark. Onesimus. Oh, and that’s just the beginning of the list.

Think of the stories in the Bible. Redemption through and through. Mary Magdalene lived a troubled life. She got a second chance. Zacchaeus was a notorious cheat, and he was given a second chance.
The truth is, we need a second chance because we are all sinners. We all fall short of glory of God. Yet God loves, forgives, restores, and renews. The patience of our God stretches as far as the east is from the west.
You may be thinking, “Oh, but I’ve really blown it!” The key to God’s patience is this: He never forgets that we are children and He loves us. He is the perfect parent, exercising restraint born of love. Let me say that more clearly, beloved – He loves you!
Father, I am so grateful for Your love and patience with me. You know who I am, all of my needs, even my shortcomings, and yet You are still my Father; I am still Your child. I’m amazed and in awe of You. Thank You! In Jesus’ name.
