OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, grant me understanding and illumination as I ponder on your word in Jesus name.

Daily Guide 22nd November 2024 (Scripture Union) Outline:
The final chapter continues with the events that will take place at the close of history. The most important is the final judgment, when “everyone whose name is written in God’s book of life will be saved.” Compare this statement in v.1 with Revelations 21:27. This refers to a book that contains the names of all who have asked God to forgive their sins and are trusting in Christ’s death in their place as the means of being acceptable to God. Is your name written in this book? Are you actively engaged in leading many to faith in God (v.3)?
Daniel finally asked a question similar to what the disciples asked before Jesus Christ ascended up to heaven, and he got a similar answer (v.9; compare Acts 1:7). V.13 is a promise for all who are truly trusting in Christ’s death and resurrection as a means of their salvation. This is the greatest promise a man can have. It is the final answer to all our questions.
