TODAY’S MESSAGE
God is completely and utterly self-sufficient. But how many times do we entertain the thought that he needs a “little help from his friends,” as though he were low on cash, short on reserves, or in need of extra resources? Can God help me? we often think. Is he able? Does he have enough “ummph” to make a difference?
God has everything he needs and more. Much, much more. It does not boost his ego or enrich his kingdom if we tithe fifteen percent rather than ten percent. He is not cowering by the doors of major charitable foundations, hoping the grant committees approve more “Christian” requests than “secular.”
God is not behind schedule, low on energy, short of clout, thin on reserves, nervous about the stock market, or hoping people will follow through on their pledges. He’s not short on donors or awaiting bank approval and a zoning permit to fulfill his plans, because “no one can hold back his hand or say to him: ‘What have you done?’” (Dan. 4:35). God does not operate in the red. He’s in the black.
“Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him” (Ps. 115:3). It is his pleasure to meet each and every one of your needs.
Can God help you today? Does he have enough power on reserve to make a difference? Can he provide for your needs? More than yes. “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’…or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matt. 6:31-33).
God, I praise you for being all-sufficient. You have enough…you are enough!
