And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. – Colossians 3:2, AMPC
Today’s Word
At the start of the day, you need to set your mind. When you get out of bed, you need to say, “Father, thank You for the gift of this day. I’m going to choose to be happy, to see the best, to be a blessing to others. I’m going to live this day to the full.” If you don’t set your mind, the enemy will set it for you. You’ll wake up and think about all your problems and everything you’ve done wrong. Don’t start the day off negative. It goes on to say, “Keep it set.” That implies things are going to happen that will try to unset it—challenges, delays, rude people, doors that close.
You can’t stop that from happening, but you can choose to not let it get inside and unset your mind. You could get down and disappointed, but your mind is set. “God, I trust You. I know You wouldn’t have let this happen unless You have something good in store.” Keep your mind stayed on Him. Keep it full of praise, keep expecting good things, keep believing for what God promised.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that I can set my mind for victory today and to be my best because You made this day. Thank You that I can keep it set when I meet the challenges of this day. I am going to keep praising You and expecting great things. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
