God had a plan that would produce such radical change that its inward workings would generate miraculous outward results. In Christ, we have been made into a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). The old life and its desires are gone. He cleanses us and replaces our hearts of stone with hearts of flesh. Then the Lord puts His Spirit – His breath, His life – within us, and His Spirit enables us to walk in His statutes.
We are no longer dead in our trespasses and sins. We are born again by the Spirit of the living God, enabled to obey His Word, and empowered to fulfill His calling upon our lives. You can experience the power of a new life in your everyday walk with God. Obey the leading of His Spirit and your heart will remain responsive to Him.
Pray: Lord, thank You for giving me a heart of flesh so that I may obey your commands.
