TOPIC: Godly Inheritance
OPENING PRAYER: Oh Lord, fill me with the power of the Holy Ghost as I study your word.
SCRIPTURE READING: JOSHUA 13:1-33
Question(s) for Reflection
* Q7: What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
In today’s study, despite the vast areas the children of Israel conquered, God points to Joshua that there are some unconquered vast lands even now that he is old (vs.1-7). The work of God, specifically the great commission is vast, and will continue until the return of our Lord Jesus. It outlives individuals.
The issue of proper handover of the work to the younger generation becomes central and critical to preserve the truth of the Word of God. How can the older generation handover the gospel to the younger generation? See 2 Timothy 2:2. If there is no proper handover to faithful, reliable believers, there will be a generation gap; the quantity and quality of the work will be compromised.
In vs.8-33, God commanded Joshua to share the conquered lands as inheritance to the children of Israel just as Moses had done to the two and half tribes who received their inheritance east of Jordan. Christians have their inheritance in Christ.
From Ephesians 1:13-14, what is our inheritance in Christ? It includes eternal life, the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit, divine health and healing, peace, longevity, blessings etc. It is possible that a Christian may live his life on earth and die without accessing all his or her inheritance in Christ.

Father, help your church to avoid generation gap in her ministry.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Isaiah 40:29

‣ Spiritual, numerical and financial growth in their Regions; and more cordial relationships between them, their RCs and Regional Committees.
