Cultural and religious values often make us judgmental of others whom we feel do not conform enough. Who would believe that a heathen prostitute would have more faith in God than the Israelites who were supposed to be God’s chosen people but did not trust God to lead them into Canaan even after the Red Sea and other great experiences?
A whole generation of people had to die in the desert because they lacked confidence in God who destroyed the Egyptian army before their own eyes! This prostitute heard about this God and believed in Him without any reservation. She was so convinced of God’s power that she was prepared to risk her life for Him. What an incredible faith! Notice how she put her faith to action immediately (v.21). As a believer, are you not ashamed when you compare your faith in God with that of Rahab?
God hid the spies and prevented the king’s men from finding them (cf., Psalm 27:5). The two parties made a deal but anyone who stayed outside Rahab’s house was not covered (v.19, cf. Judges 1:21a). Similarly, if we stay within the confines of God’s word, our preservation and blessings are guaranteed (Deuteronomy 28:1-2). Otherwise, the reverse (Deuteronomy 28:15)!
Practice/Word Application
And so? God is ever ready to accept all who come to Him in genuine repentance irrespective of the gravity of their sins.

Father, give me your kind of heart that is free of prejudice.

‣ Grace to trust their children and families to God and always carry their burdens and cares to Him in prayer.
‣ Our sisters will impact their families, neighborhood, SU ministry, church and place of work for Christ.
‣ God’s provision of children for waiting couples, life partners for those waiting for marriage, jobs for the unemployed and healing for those who are sick.
PRAY AGAINST:
‣ Spirit of fear, anxieties, sicknesses and untimely death.
