TOPIC: A Day with Joni ~ Ordinary to Extraordinary
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels…

God never calls you to a task that fits. He always calls you beyond – to something beyond your strength, imagination, talent, and depth, because He wants you to trust him.
He delights in pouring living water from leaky clay pots. David didn’t like much when he was tending sheep. It was God who called a shepherd to be king! Saul of Tarshish certainly didn’t look like anybody’s first choice to become missionary to the Gentiles. It was God who turned Saul into Paul!
What did Noah know of boat building? Zoo keeping? You get up in the morning and see an ordinary person in the mirror. That’s wonderful! Your God calls ordinary people like you and me, forward to extraordinary ends. Don’t dismiss God’s voice calling you beyond “tasks that fit.” Swallow. Take a breath. And say, “Here I am, Lord!” God always calls us to something greater than ourselves.
You are Lord! You use the weak things of this world to confound the strong; the foolish things to confound the wise – it is all about You! I want to be about You. Give me courage to step forward when You call. Here I am, Lord. Send me.
